To those who are Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, or Questioning,
My heart is full for you. I briefly want to encourage you. Who knows who will read this but I hope you know that:
- God loves you how you are. You are not a mistake or an abomination. A good percentage of people are sexually diverse. This is God’s plan for the world. And God does not condemn loving, same-sex relationships. I am a constant student/teacher of the Bible. Please contact me if you have any questions about this. I am happy to show you, in scripture, where God blesses you, as you are.
- Our church accepts you how you are. You have value to the world. And you have something to give to others spiritually. Everyone is unique and beautiful, which means everyone has an experience of God that can help others know God better. Diversity leads to growth. If you do not have a church family, please consider First Christian Church.
- If you and your partner want to get married, please contact our church. The Christian marriage covenant recognizes our desire for sex and our capacity for love, and also the possibility of a lifetime of joy. God calls us to more than serial monogamy or a bunch of one night stands. The Lord wants us to make a lifetime covenant.
2 Corinthians 1:3 reads, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father and the God who gives every possible encouragement.” May you always know of the encouragement that the Father has for you.
