Virtual Gatherings

March 17, 2020

We are in the 20th year of the 21st Century.  Many churches have continued to practice old models of ministry developed in the 20th Century.  Church leaders and scholars have been discussing for years that the Church needs to find new ways of doing ministry and being church in the 21st Century, especially the Digital Age.  If something good may come of our current situation, the Church will find new ways of doing ministry and facilitating faith formation and fellowship.  Really, we have no choice.

In the coming weeks, for however long we’re limiting face-to-face fellowship, I have set up a Zoom account to host virtual meetings (if we like these meetings, we can continue when we’re “back to normal”).  You can access Zoom meetings from your phone, tablet or computer.  You can go to and create an account.  You will need to download a program that will be the virtual meeting space.  Call me when you’re signing up and I’ll walk you through it.

Below are a list of regularly recurring meetings and the link you will follow to join the meeting.  Any one is welcome to join the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday meetings.  The Young Adults have reserved a meeting time on Fridays when everyone can get home from work and the kiddos get to bed.  If you would like to coordinate one of the meetings to be for women, men, youth or specifically for prayer or Bible study, please use your phone tree to coordinate amongst yourselves and let me know so I may communicate that to the whole church.

I have set up a prayer time for Sunday afternoons which will convene following the 10:45 – 11:45 worship time.  This will be open for anyone who would like to pray together on Sunday mornings.I plan the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday meetings to last for about an hour (we have 2 hours reserved for our meetings so we can carry on if we’re enjoying ourselves) and to follow this format:1) Check in: How is it with your soul? – 15 mins2) Sharing joys and concerns – 10 mins3) Prayer – 5 mins4) Bible study / devotion – 30 mins

Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am – Join URL:

If you have any questions about how these meetings will work or need help signing up for Zoom, please call, text, email or message me.  If you’re feeling isolated, please reach out to me or another member of the church.
