“WELCOME Wholly
LOVE Authentically
SHARE God’s Grace Abundantly”
FROM THE PASTOR I am on vacation from November 15th to November 21st . Pastor Sheri will preach in my absence. If you have need for pastoral care, please contact Pastor Sheri, Marie or Brenda.
MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING On the 2nd Sunday of each month at 9:00 am at the church Pastor Tracy will open with prayer. We will review our prayer list and have an opportunity to share our joys and concerns.
ADVENT DEVOTIONS We will have devotions for Advent this year. You will receive a bag of “tags”. Each day, you can pull a tag from the bag and the tag will tell you what to do that day for your devotion. If you worship at home, we will deliver bags to you with communion for the season. If you worship in the sanctuary, you can pick up your bag on Sunday, November 28th.
There are a couple ways you can help with this project:
1) bake cookies to include in the bags for those who worship at home. Deliver to church on Friday, November 26 th between 10 am and noon.
2) Help assemble bags on Friday, November 26 th from 10 am to noon.
3) Deliver bags to those who worship at home on Saturday, November 27 th .
Please let Pastor Tracy know how you’d like to help.
ADVENT SMALL GROUP I will be leading a 5-week small group during Advent studying the covenantal nature of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm beginning on Tuesday, November 23. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about Disciples, whether you’re new to Disciples or a lifelong Disciple. You can access the interactive curriculum here:
JOHN G. CARLISLE CHRISTMAS FCC is again sponsoring Christmas gifts for John G. Carlisle children. The gift lists will be on the ledge at the rear of the sanctuary. Each child is assigned a number (no names) and there will be more information stapled to each list about what to do. A clipboard will also be there where you sign your name, phone number, and CHILD’S NUMBER. This is very important to keep track of the lists. If more lists are needed, we can get more. Questions? Please see Marie or call Sue & Steve at 859-817-1263

Advent Sermon Series The sermon series for Advent starting on Sunday November 28th will be based on the CS Lewis children’s book series The Chronicles of Narnia. You will not need to read the books or watch the movies to keep up with the series. However, if you’re looking for some books or movies to watch, this would be a fun series for kids and adults alike.

First, we have $3,000 pledged or received toward our need of $15,000 for the Home Improvement Fund. You can make a gift through the end of the year. You can write in the memo of your check or online gift “Home Improvement.” Second, there is a list of home improvement projects that need completed in the sanctuary or one can be emailed to you upon request. You can work on these projects at your convenience.

Our Christmas Outreach project this year will be the same as last. We will collect gift cards for the clients of Welcome House. Gift cards may be purchased for: $25 for Walmart, Kroger, Dollar Tree, or Target or $5 – $10 for any fast food restaurants. You can leave your gift cards in the offering tray or mail them to the church. If you would like someone to shop for you please make a gift online or by check with the memo “Christmas gift cards”.
Want to help keep recyclable items out of the landfill? This will help us become a Green Church!
The Cincinnati Reuse and Recycle Hub in downtown Cincinnati is amazing! For more info: https://www.cincinnatirecyclingandreusehub.org/ We’ll focus on recycling two item categories at a time. There will be bins at the back of the sanctuary.
This first item will be Styrofoam. All styrofoam is accepted, if clean and dry: packaging from boxes, as well as Styrofoam food containers, trays, cleaned and or dried, and the softer wrap style used to package.
The second item will be Yard Signs. Election yard sign and all other yard signs.
Planned Giving for 2022
Please contact Pastor Sheri Jackson with your 2022 planned giving. You can text or email Sheri or complete a card to place in the offering plate. Please return your cards or contact Sheri in the next week or so.
Thanksgiving Offering
The Thanksgiving Offering benefits the Colleges, Universities, Seminaries, and Divinity Houses affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Higher education has been an important focus for Disciples since the very beginning of the movement. Throughout our history, Disciples have founded institutions of higher learning to educate students and form leaders to make a difference in the world. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is still committed to higher education. Your gift to the Thanksgiving Offering helps support the education of thousands of students at our fifteen colleges and universities as well as our seven seminaries and divinity houses.
