LEADERSHIP COUNCIL Zoom Meeting The next meeting of the Leadership Council will be Sunday, May 16th at 7 pm  This is an open meeting.

Kentucky Disciples Women’s Ministries

While it looks like we are seeing some relief, we still have a long way to go. It is not, however, time for us to come together in person for our usual spring and fall events. Things are just too precarious now for us to do anything other than what we have been doing for the past 13 months. And, that is trying to stay safe and show love for our neighbors by being intentional in trying to help others stay safe as well.

Some good news is that I have met with the women’s cabinet a few times over the course of this pandemic, and we are looking to have a virtual gathering for Kentucky Disciples Women sometime in mid June. I’ll be sending out information on this virtual  gathering as plans are settled.

      

      

Banners have been ordered for Porta John 3:16!! They will be here in a couple weeks and posted on him.

To begin to get the word out about Porta John 3:16 and our relief ministry, please head down to the church and take a picture with Porta John 3:16.   Post your picture to Facebook with the hashtags  #portajohn316 and #reliefministry.  Please send your pictures to the church.

Panorama Food Pantry

The pantry is still in need, if you would like to contribute Sue and Steve will be in Fellowship Hall AGAIN next Thursday April, 29, between 10:00 am and 11:30 a.m.  If you need Steve and Sue to pick up your items please call them to make arrangements.  Items should be in cans, packages, bags, NO fresh produce, please. Things that are ready when  opened or heat and serve are best. Canned meats go quickly.

Lexington Theological Seminary Lay School of Theology

The purpose of this series of lectures is to examine the historical relationships between religion and politics. Pastors and Lay Leaders will learn from historical, cultural, social, and theological studies with the aim of obtaining a better understanding of religious participation in U.S. American public life, the nature of civil religion, and Christian participation in the public sphere. Special attention will be paid to the U.S. Presidency in historical perspective and its interactions with Christian life and practice.
